Terms of Use

Faux Bingo is a volunteer-run scoreboard for a community Old School RuneScape event. Using it means agreeing to what follows. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and a member of the event's Discord server. Access is granted by holding a role in that server; losing the role ends your access, and membership is not transferable between people.

Your account and your token

Your identity here is your Discord account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

Signing in issues you a player token beginning fbp_. It is the only credential the game plugin uses — there is no second check behind it, so anyone holding your token can submit drops as you. Do not share it, post it, or paste it into a screenshot. Tell an admin immediately if it leaks.

Register only accounts that are yours. One person's accounts belong to one team.

Fair play

The point of the evidence trail is that a tile can be settled by looking at it. So:

• Do not fabricate, doctor, or reuse evidence. An edited screenshot is the one thing here that is unambiguously cheating.
• Do not submit drops from an account that is not yours, or arrange for somebody else to play your account.
• Do not attack or abuse the API — no automated scraping, no load testing, no probing for other people's data, no submitting events by hand to fake a drop.
• Do not upload anything you would not want the whole clan to see, or anything unlawful, abusive, or belonging to somebody else.

Event admins decide what counts toward a tile, and may correct scores, reject evidence, or remove a participant. Those decisions are final within the event. This is a game between friends; it is not an arbitration forum.

What you upload

You keep ownership of the screenshots and images you upload. By uploading, you grant us permission to store and display them within the event — on the board, on team pages, and in the verification gallery — for as long as the event site exists, and you confirm you have the right to share them.

We may remove anything that breaks these terms. You can ask for your own uploads to be removed at any time; see the Privacy Policy.

Availability

The site is provided as is and as available. It runs on hobbyist infrastructure and is maintained between real jobs. It may be slow, may be down, may lose data, and may end when the event does. Nothing here is a guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or preservation — keep your own copy of anything you care about.

Scoring is automated and imperfect. A drop may fail to match a tile, or match one it should not. That is what the admin review exists for.

Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from using the site, including lost data, lost progress, or a scoring outcome you disagree with. Our total liability for any claim is capped at USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by anything above.

Ending access

You can stop using the site at any time, and ask for your data to be erased. We may suspend or remove access if these terms are broken, or if you leave the Discord server.

Attribution and third-party rights

Faux Bingo is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jagex Ltd.

• Old School RuneScape, RuneScape, and all related item names, images, and game content are the property of Jagex Ltd. They appear here descriptively, to identify in-game items in a non-commercial community event. No ownership is claimed and no revenue is taken.
• The item name-to-ID index the site validates tile rules against is built from the Old School RuneScape Wiki, whose content is available under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, and cross-checked against the wiki's real-time prices API. Our use is non-commercial, and this notice is the attribution.
• RuneLite is an open-source third-party client published under the BSD 2-Clause licence. The Faux Bingo plugin runs on it; RuneLite's authors are not involved in this event.
• Wise Old Man is linked for competition tracking and is an independent project.
• Discord provides sign-in and hosts the event's server. Discord's own terms and privacy policy apply to everything that happens there.
• The site's own source code is published under the MIT licence. That covers the code we wrote, not the third-party material above — see the NOTICE file in the repository.

If you hold rights in something here and want it removed, email admin@fauxbingo.com and it will be taken down.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of where you live, and may bring proceedings there.

Before anything formal, please just message an admin. Almost everything is a misunderstanding about a tile.

Changes

These terms are versioned in the site's public source repository, so every change is a dated, readable diff. Material changes will be announced in the event's Discord server.
